Quest for the Phoenix – Editor’s Pick

“The Quest for the Phoenix celebrates Tori’s open-heartedness, as she learns that befriending creatures like fairies, spirits, and gallywomps helps her forward on her journey. Choosing love and support over fear proves the key to her quest. That lesson will hearten the middle grade readers the novel is targeted to, but the story will also appeal to fantasy-loving adults who relish stories of believing in love and making friends of those perceived to be different.”

The North Passage
-Reedsy Discovery Must Read

When the world becomes torn apart, it’s up to a brave girl, her little brother, and a band of magical friends to “weave” a new future.

Erin Lucero incorporates some heavy themes like grief, anxiety, and hope without the sense of wonder being lost.

It’s a story full of heart, adventure, and meaning—perfect for readers who want a little more than just another quest.”

Ayni: Finding Connection, Love & Harmony with the Wisdom of Yoga & Shamanism

It’s the reset button we all need, disguised as a self-help guide.
 Perfect for Readers Who Love:
– Ancient wisdom with a modern, no-BS twist, – Reflective reads that don’t talk down to you, – Books that gently call you out (but with love), – Self-help that doesn’t require enlightenment or a trust fund
– Practical tools for being a little more sane and a lot more connected.
This is more than a book—it’s a soul stretch and a reality check. Ayni isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about remembering you weren’t broken in the first place.

A little more about Erin

Erin graduated with honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Architecture and Communications, and has had a lifelong love of writing. She began writing poems and essays at a young age, winning local awards and publishing in journals.  She took the pen back to paper again to tell her own story of healing after the death of her mother, and she hasn’t stopped writing.

She loves writing novels for young adults, to tell the stories she wished she’d been able to tell her younger self. Her book Quest for the Phoenix was a Book Life Review editors’ pick and tells the tale of a 10-year-old girl choosing love and support over fear as she joins two gnomes on an epic adventure to save a dying phoenix.  Her upcoming sequel, The North Passage, continues the story of Tori and the gnomes, finding inspiration and hope in a world that feels like it is crumbling all around them.

Erin believes in the power of storytelling as a way of turning complex ideas into magical adventures. Her writing style has been called warm and approachable, like talking to an old friend.  She published the non-fiction book Ayni as a personal journey and a road map to find self-love and harmony through the teachings of yoga and shamanism.  She also published a children’s book called Hudson and the Magic Crow, which teaches children the big impact humans have on the world, and how what we do matters. She cares deeply for Mother Earth and all her children, and making this planet a better place for all living things.

Non-Fiction to find Healing and Balance

Find love, balance and harmony in your life with the teachings of yoga and shamanism in her non-fiction memoir and self help book AYNI, a word from the Andes that teaches us we are all connected.

Discover the wisdom of the shamanic archectype of the Hummingbird in the Wisdom of Hummingbird

Erin teaches the power of self-love, connection, and healing in her own life journey and through the practices of yoga and shamanism.

Fiction to Embrace Love and Adventure

Embrace adventure, love, and open-heartedness with the stories of Quest for the Phoenix, a Book Life Editor Pick, and its sequel, The North Passage. Travel with Tori and her gnome friends on a journey to discover the magic in our hearts, and that friendship, kindness, and humor will get us through the darkest of times and the greatest of challenges.

Help children understand their impact on the world around them with Hudson and the Magic Crow. A story that inspires children to care about the plants and animals, to see how we’re all connected and that what they do matters. It also speaks to the simple and powerful act of creating more joy in the world.
